Our Mission is to advance the interest of our members through professional achievements, serving the public interest by cultivating the science of jurisprudence and facilitating the administration of justice while preserving the high standards of professionalism among judges.

The prime aim behind the formation of the Judicial Service Association is to cultivate fraternity and cordiality among the judicial officers of Sri-lanka.

The association plays a very vital, positive & pragmatic role in betterment of service conditions.

The aims and objective of the association are:

  • To promote unity, welfare and friendly interaction among its members
  • To afford opportunity to the members to meet together and exchange their ideas, and to discuss and deal with the matters of common interest affecting them
  • To bring to the notice of the authorities concerned, difficulties that the members of the judicial service may experience
  • To formulate other schemes for the benefit of the members
  • To hold an annual conference for the members.

We hope you will join for another exciting, inspirational and enriching year with the JSA. Our solidarity and service as a team will flourish this year’s endeavour’s.

President and the members of the executive committee invite you to join us for another great year, a year in which we will achieve many goals  and a year in which we can cultivate our long traditional of solidarity to one another and serve to our honored profession.

 

New President Hon. M. A. R. Marikar's Message

It is both an honor and a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve our association as the new President of the Judicial Service Association (JSA) I thank all of you for the trust and support you have offered me and my committee.

Of special mention is the fact, that our association has a prestigious history. I assure you that the committee will work as a team for the betterment of the association. Therefore please feel free to present your innovative ideas and work with the committee to get the best benefits for the membership. Our vision for the association over the next year involves development of several aspects and educational outreach.

On behalf of the association and all judicial officers we the committee reiterate our commitment to justice with dedication and sincerity, with a sense of duty, discipline, dignity and hard work.

I am honored that the membership of the JSA has entrusted me with the responsibility of leading our association this year. I look forward to working with you and I wish the very best both professionally and personally as the year unfolds.

 

 

 Executive Committee meets Chief Justice

The executive committee headed by the president of the JSA, met his lordship hon. chief justice Asoka de Silva and the other honorable members of the JSC, her ladyship justice Shiranee Bandaranayaka and his lordship justice Balapatabedi at the supreme court complex on the 12th January 2010.

At this meeting the committee explained the future aspirations of the JSA and appealed for the sincere support of his lordships and her ladyship to carry out the future activities of JSC.

All the participants were given an open invitation by the hon. chief justice to address the issues relating to their court work and other connected matters. Issues pertaining to basic amenities of the court houses, availability of official bungalows, judges training programs, destroying of old case records, inter alias, were discussed in detail.

The ideas expressed by the hon. chief justice on behalf of the JSC were very much impressive and he solemnly promised to extend his continues support and guidance throughout the year.
